Lake
Elsinore Community Information
Golf, tennis, cycling,
horseback riding, hiking, camping and many more activities are readily
available in Lake Elsinore, where almost any recreational pursuit you
can name is either at your fingertips or within an easy drive. The blue
Pacific is less than an hour away, providing world-class sailing,
surfing and deep-sea fishing. The Cleveland National Forest offers
several pleasant hiking trails and picnic areas. The San Bernardino
Mountains provide a striking backdrop for the picturesque Elsinore
Valley and offer hiking, camping and snow skiing. Snow skiers can enjoy
no less than a dozen excellent ski resorts within a two-hour drive.
World-famous thermal
winds create ideal aerial conditions for skydiving, hang-gliding,
sailplanes and hot-air ballooning, offering the freedom to float out
over the valley, soaring on thermal updrafts for hours on end.
Water sports on the glistening
3300-acre lake abound - boating, jet skiing, water skiing,
windsurfing, wakeboarding and fishing.
Lake Elsinore and its wetlands
are home to a vast array of wildlife. Bird-watching has become a fine
art as blue herons, egrets, cranes, ducks, geese, sandpipers, coots and
freshwater pelicans regard the refreshing waters of Lake Elsinore as
part of their natural habitat.
Lake Elsinore has many lovely
parks for all forms of outdoor recreation. Many adult and children's
sports organizations enjoy some of the finest park facilities in
Riverside County. On warm, balmy evenings, concerts held in the parks
under the stars are a serene conclusion to fun-filled days. Lake
Elsinore is a California Park and Recreation Society award-winner for
outstanding achievement in park planning.
The Lake Elsinore Diamond
Stadium, home of the Lake Elsinore Storm, an affiliate of the California
Angels, features exciting professional baseball as well as concerts, a
variety of special events year round, and fabulous fireworks
extravaganzas on specified evenings from spring to fall.
For fun in the sun and under
the stars, come and play in Lake Elsinore!
